One Cool Thing’s latest survey about living in a good school district.
The Lawhead Team would like to share the California Association of Realtors latest “One Cool Thing” about choosing a home based on the school districts.
Three out of five home buyers say school attendance boundaries would be a factor in choosing a home. A majority even say they would be willing to go above budget or give up amenities to have their children attend the school of their choice.
- 23.6% would pay 1-5% above budget to have their children attend the school of their choice.
- 20.7% would pay 6-10% above budget to have their children attend the school of their choice.
- 9% would pay 11-20% above budget to have their children attend the school of their choice.
- 40.3% would not go above budget to have their children attend the school of their choice.
In another survey parents were asked what they were willing to give up in a home in order for their children to go to the school of their choice:
- 62% of families would do without a pool or spa in order to have their children attend a school of their choice.
- 50.6% of families would give up accessibility to shopping in order to have their children attend a school of their choice.
- 44% of families would pass on a bonus room in order to have their children attend a school of their choice.
- 42% of families would forgo nearby parks and trails in order to have their children attend a school of their choice.
